Y12&13 - Aspiring Medics - Dr.eam Senior Conference
Medicine Dr.eam Senior Conference: Year 12 and 13
Dear whom this may concern,
I hope you are well.
I write to you on behalf of the Birmingham Widening Access to Medical Sciences society (BWAMS) at the University of Birmingham. We organise outreach events, talks, and conferences throughout the year aimed at school students - from Widening Participation backgrounds - to support them on their journey into healthcare careers. To find out more about who we are and what we do, please visit our website: https://www.bwams.co.uk/.
We are emailing to promote our free-to-attend annual flagship conference – Dr.eam Senior – aimed at Year 12 and 13 students and attended by hundreds of aspiring medics last year.
Location: Zoom Webinar
Date: Saturday 28th September 2024
Time: 9 am to 3 pm
In partnership with the University of Birmingham Medical School, our conference is aimed at Year 12 and 13 students selected to complement the University's widening access selection criteria. We hope to reach as many young people as possible who normally don't receive additional support with university applications for healthcare courses. Moreover, due to the pandemic disproportionately affecting young people from widening participation backgrounds, this additional support is now more important than ever.
Our conference will contain a plethora of talks from medical students, doctors, and University of Birmingham staff. They will range from a crash course covering personal statements, UCAT and interviews, to strategic application advice and talks on the lives of medical students and doctors - as well as other informative sessions.
We believe this event will hugely benefit your students considering studying Medicine at University. Please encourage students to apply before Monday 23rd September 2024 using the following link:
If you have any enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us!
Kind regards,
BWAMS Team
